Keeping Active & Staying Fit

7:09 PM

Hi guys!

Something that I have always kept as a priority in my life is keeping my body healthy. Honestly, I've always had a fairly thin body type with my fast metabolism and it's also just in my genes. However, I haven't always been so aware of keeping my body healthy and happy. I practically used to live off of junk food and at least two cans of coke a day! That's pretty much how I grew up but, at some point in my life I turned things around. I started keeping active and working out once a day and eating a lot healthier.

Currently, I try to go to the gym at least 3-4 times a week and workout at home the rest of the days. I'm fortunate enough to have a wonderful backyard to workout in. I also go on runs weather it's on a treadmill or just outside around my neighborhood. Going on hikes is also something I love including in my weekly routine. They're just really fun way of getting a good cardio workout. I make sure to workout my legs, abs, arms and of course my booty!

It's always important to make sure you stretch before AND after any type of workout.

When working out my lower body I make sure to include squats, donkey kicks, lunges, walking lunges, step ups, and backward lunges. I typically find new workouts to do through Pinterest! Here is a good example of what I would do to workout my lower body.

For arm workouts, I keep it pretty light because my arms are already super tiny! I usually only use 8 lb. weights or less! Never higher then 8 lbs though.  I do

Here are some arm workouts I would typically do. I usually pick three or four workouts and do two sets. My favorites are planks, standing dumbbell curls, overhead tricep extensions, and dumbbell lateral raises.

Lastly, I always include abs! Below I included an exercise from Kayla Itsines. I've done one of her 12 week guides before, and let me tell you; she knows what she's talking about! I highly recommend her guides for anyone who's looking for one to follow.

With working out and keeping active, I also make sure to keep a healthy diet. I always incorporate protein, some carbs, fruits and veggies and all that good stuff. I also always try to drinks at least a gallon of water.

One of my new found obsessions is fresh juice! I have a juicer at home which makes this very practical for me, but you can also buy some juice at a local juicery. Whole foods does really well with their juices! The reason why I love juice so much is because you can put all types of good fruits and veggies in and it will almost always taste good. It's a great way to get all the vitamins and greens you need.

They may look really gross but I swear, they are SO good.

This juice is more simple and just has apple and carrot.

This juice consists of more greens.
Ingredients:
-Carrots
-Apples
-Pineapple
-Kale
-Spinach
-Cucumber

It's pretty much all about mixing your favorite fruits and veggies and experimenting with it.

Overall this is how I keep my body and my mind healthy! Working out and staying active is one of my favorite things to keep in my daily routine.
